Misunderstandings between suppliers and purchasers of business systems often occur
because the supplier has not fully understood the requirements of the business. The
failure to achieve a successful implementation usually means that the company is
failing to meet its objectives.
Before entering into expensive and lengthy litigation, which may never deliver you a
system that works, ANTIVA can be brought in to deal with the matter. ANTIVA consultants
have been fully trained in mediation processes and have worked very successfully with
companies and major firms of lawyers. They will assess the situation from an unbiased
view point and provide an action plan on how either the implementation can be completed
successfully, or, if the system is not fit for purpose, recover some or all of their
expenditure to date.
“Our client was at the end of its tether and its business suffering badly. Antiva
were able to access the situation and put an action plan in place to identify the
problems and resolve the dispute amicably.” - David Greig, Partner, Taylor Joynson Garrett
Nearly all companies are heavily dependent on Information Technology for operating
their businesses. However, there is still a level of naivety at board level of what
the consequences to their businesses would be if elements of their IT Infrastructure
were to fail.
ANTIVA’s consultants can undertake a risk assessment for corporate governance purposes
and put in place an action plan to control risk.
In a world where businesses are becoming almost totally dependent on effective IT
infrastructures, it is surprising that most organisations have no method by which
they benchmark the effectiveness of their IT infrastructure. Many senior executives
do not understand the risk that is inherent in their systems that could lead to very
costly downtimes or failure to deliver to their customers.
ANTIVA consultants carry out a complete audit of the company’s IT infrastructure and
produce a report enabling senior management to assess whether they are getting the best
return on their investment in IT. The Audit Report will highlight certain key areas
such as:
- The main areas of risk that could harm the business if they fail.
- Security shortfalls, which could lead the company to exposure to non-compliance
with legal requirements or attacks from hackers or competitors.
- Comparison of business requirements to IT system fulfilment and how the shortfalls
could be cost effectively bridged.
- Advice on the organisation of the IT department and consideration of alternative
methods of system development and delivery such as facilities management,
Application Service Providers and off-shore development teams.
- Advice on project management for implementation of mission critical IT systems.
“The business was spending £10 million a year on IT of which a large proportion was
being spent on the development of bespoke systems. The audit highlighted that there
were packages available that when integrated would deliver our business objectives
for a one-off cost of £1.6 million and a recurring annual cost of £500,000.” - David
Holmwood, Former Financial controller, Major Record Group
Companies are constantly trying to run their businesses more effectively. Headcounts
have been reduced to the minimum. It is therefore not surprising that organisations
often find that they need a specialist skill for a relatively short period of time
and do not want to recruit a full time employee.
Whether it’s a short-term requirement for an IT Director or manager, or a project
manager to manage the procurement and implementation of a business critical system,
ANTIVA can provide skilled consultants to fulfil all positions throughout an IT
organisation.
It is an unfortunate fact that many technology companies are facing hard times and
investors stand to lose their investment, whilst employees face the loss of their
jobs. ANTIVA has developed a range of services to help these companies stabilise
their position and move forward.
In our experience, companies reach a point where their ongoing cash flow position
will not support the back-end of new product development or distribution of proven
product to market.
ANTIVA can offer:
- A complete review of the company’s strategic plan and company infrastructure
in relation to current and future markets.
- Introduce proven product development processes
- Implementation of sound financial reporting and review processes.
- A review of sales motion including market analysis, competitor analysis and
pricing models.
- Advice on sales practices and marketing support.
- Training in quality management processes and client services.
- Review of cost base and assistance to renegotiate supplier contracts.
- Interim professional management to support the existing board of directors on
a full or part-time basis
- Development of investment or sales prospectus.
Initially an ANTIVA Senior Consultant will provide a report for the Board and/or
Investors/Bankers. All our findings and summary are presented in a standard report
format that provides for easy review. All information gathered is treated in the
strictest confidence.
“…For the past month IT turnaround specialist Antiva has been working its magic at
ART and the orders have been pouring in. The problem was lack of commercial skills
to exploit what is recognised as world-beating technology. Antiva has helped ART
to clinch its largest sale to date and has made breakthrough sales into Italy and
China, in addition to winning key new business in the UK and U.S.” - Cambridge News
